Many happy returns, Magdalena!

Today is the birthday of world mezzosoprano and 2026 Dvořák Prague Festival’s artist-in-residence Magdalena Kožená. On behalf of the entire Festival team, we wish her good health, all the best, and inexhaustible artistic inspiration.

The winner of the 2025 Antonín Dvořák Award is one of the world’s most prominent musicians, and we are proud that this autumn, she will be an intrinsic part of our programme.

The face of several programme series

Magdalena Kožená naturally intertwines several programme series this year.

Dvořák Collection

In this series, Magdalena has assumed the eminent role of curator, focusing on the song genre. In addition to songs by Dvořák, the programme will include songs by Leoš Janáček, Maurice Ravel, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Franz Schubert.

Recital

A recital is a unique format of musical performance: the key role is played either by a single musician, or a duo. Magdalena will perform with the terrific pianist Kirill Gerstein.

For the Future

Magdalena Kožená is also deeply committed to supporting young musicians. For the concert programme curated by herself, she has selected four promising singers to whom she offered sharing the stage with her.

Concerts featuring Magdalena Kožená

The audience will have the opportunity to watch Magdalena Kožená in various roles – as a soloist, chamber partner and mentor.
